Welcome — I’m Anthony Aubel.
I am interested in the scientific and philosophical study of cognition, particularly at the intersection of linguistic theory, logic, and the philosophy of mind. My work explores how conceptual structures shape—and are shaped by—perceptual boundaries, and how abstraction mediates our access to meaning and understanding. I am especially drawn to the role that abstract relational structures play in organizing cognition, and how these structures interface with neural, linguistic, and computational systems.
I approach these questions through the tradition of analytic philosophy, with an empirically grounded perspective informed by my background in chemistry, life sciences, and molecular neuroscience. I draw connections to neuroscience, computation, and both natural and artificial intelligence.
I founded DeepTalks to create a serious, collaborative space for scholars exploring the interface of language, logic, and mind. Through this platform, I share academic reflections, conduct literature reviews, and host cross-disciplinary discussions with researchers. I also organize expert interviews and talks with scholars from leading institutions, while supporting opportunities for collaborative research and funding.
Brief background: I hold graduate degrees in Chemistry and Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and have several years of experience in research and development.
